The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland, a non-profit organization that strives to reduce hunger and improve health access across its service area, seeks a full-time Nutrition Educator & Wellness Coordinator. Position is 100% grant-funded, based upon the availability of grant funds, and reports to the Program Director and supervises dietetic interns.
Position Summary: Responsible for the planning and implementation of all activities related to the organization’s nutrition and wellness initiatives and serves as a nutrition advisor to the organization, its hunger centers, and Food Rescue partner organizations. Works collaboratively with clinical partners and maintains relationships according to agreements. Collects and maintains data compilation, tracking, and reporting of outcomes.
Effectively manages nutrition and wellness initiatives to ensure timely completion of program deliverables.
Ensures that programs and materials are evidence-based.
Manages annual program budget and contributes to grant writing process.
Identifies partnership and funding opportunities that promote relationship building among organizations, agencies, and/or individuals that support the growth and sustainability of the organization’s nutrition and wellness initiatives.
Develops and administers the program’s marketing materials in conjunction with Marketing and Communications Coordinator.
Works cooperatively with Food Rescue program staff to infuse program with nutrition and wellness initiatives.
Collects and maintains confidentiality of program data.
Develops creative methods for conveyance of nutrition and wellness messages to hunger centers, Food Rescue partners, clients, and community.
Manages scheduling and activities of dietetic interns to meet required competencies.
Represents the organization in community collaborations/task forces related to health, hunger, and nutrition.
Bachelor’s or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Nutrition, Public Health, or closely related field and completion of dietetic internship approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.
RDN or RDN eligible upon appointment. If RDN-eligible must obtain registration from Commission on Dietetic Registration within six months of appointment, as a condition of continued employment.
Licensed dietitian in the state of Ohio.
Current ServSafe Food Handler or Manager certification.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
1-2 years in relevant environment.

Possesses strong administrative skills with emphasis on attention to detail.
Holds proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Office 365, SharePoint.
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Possesses knowledge of HIPAA, CLIA, universal precautions, and food safety handling.
